Kelly Clarkson is cementing her musical legacy for decades to come.
On July 24, the Grammy-winning pop powerhouse and daytime TV host announced a landmark deal with HarbourView Equity Partners, selling a portion of her music catalog to the investment firm. While financial details were kept private, the move underscores Clarkson’s deep personal and professional connection to the songs that shaped her two-decade career.
“My music is such a huge part of my journey – not just professionally, but personally,” Clarkson, 43, shared in a statement. “Knowing these songs will continue to be heard and discovered by new generations means everything to me. I’m grateful to HarbourView for valuing and supporting this catalogue the way they do.”
The acquisition includes timeless hits such as “Since U Been Gone,” “Because of You,” “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You),” “Behind These Hazel Eyes,” and the holiday anthem “Underneath the Tree.”
Sherrese Clarke, CEO and Founder of HarbourView Equity Partners, expressed admiration for Clarkson’s contributions to music and entertainment. “Kelly Clarkson is a one-of-a-kind artist whose voice and songwriting have left a permanent mark on music and pop culture,” Clarke said. “Her catalog is filled with anthems that have defined moments for millions of people. We’re thrilled to partner with Kelly and help ensure these songs continue resonating for decades to come.”
Since winning the first season of American Idol in 2002, Clarkson has sold over 25 million albums and 40 million singles worldwide. Her discography boasts 17 singles certified multi-Platinum, Platinum, or Gold, and she’s earned multiple American Music Awards, MTV VMAs, and eight Daytime Emmy Awards for The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Her career continues to thrive beyond music. Clarkson was recently announced as a returning coach for Season 29 of The Voice, airing in spring 2026 alongside John Legend and Adam Levine as part of a revamped format.
Earlier this month, she launched her new Las Vegas residency, Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions, at Caesars Palace. However, the show hit a brief snag when she was forced to cancel opening weekend performances due to vocal strain from intense rehearsals.
“Prep and rehearsals had taken a toll,” she told fans. Devastated, Clarkson ultimately returned to the stage on July 11. “I cried. I was so sick, it sucked. I’m so happy to be here,” she said at the show, lifting a shot of tequila in celebration.
As she steps into her next chapter—onstage, on screen, and as a cataloged artist—Clarkson’s legacy is more secure than ever. From heartbreak anthems to empowerment ballads, her music will continue inspiring millions, just as she always hoped.
