The 14-time Grammy winner’s 12th studio album, produced with Max Martin and Shellback, promises infectious pop anthems and behind-the-scenes stories from her Eras Tour era.
Taylor Swift has once again proved she knows how to make the whole place shimmer. On Wednesday, during a rare guest appearance on the New Heights podcast — hosted by her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, and his brother Jason — the pop icon revealed her upcoming 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl. Alongside the announcement, Swift debuted the dazzling cover art and opened up about the creative journey behind the project.
A Dazzling New Era Begins
The 12-track album is set to release on Friday, October 3, 2025, and is produced entirely by Swift alongside longtime collaborators Max Martin and Shellback, known for their work on Red, 1989, and Reputation. Swift described the process as “a creative experience where all three of us were carrying the same weight as creators,” adding that she pushed herself to deliver “the best ideas we’ve ever had.”
The album’s title track will feature pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter, while the visuals reunite Swift with celebrated photographers Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, who also shot Reputation’s imagery. The cover portrays Swift in full showgirl regalia — a sequined bustier, bright magenta lips, and an aura of unapologetic glamour.
The Spark of Orange
Swift revealed that orange is the central color theme for the record, symbolizing the “energetic, exuberant, and electric” chapter of her life during the Eras Tour. “This album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during the tour,” she explained. “It’s vibrant and alive.”

Both Swift and Kelce hinted that the album will be full of “bangers.” Travis Kelce described all 12 tracks as “fun pop” and “a complete 180” from the more introspective Tortured Poets Department. Swift herself called the melodies “so infectious you’re almost angry at them,” paired with “vivid, crisp, and intentional” lyrics.
Crafted in the Midst of a Global Tour
Incredibly, The Life of a Showgirl was recorded during breaks in Swift’s European tour schedule. “I’d do three shows in a row, have three days off, fly to Sweden to record, then go right back on tour,” she shared. Despite physical exhaustion, she described the process as mentally exhilarating.
No Hidden Tracks — Just Pure Showgirl Energy
Swift confirmed there will be no surprise double album or bonus tracks this time: “This is 12. There’s not a thirteenth. There’s not other ones coming.” She described the record as the one she’s “been wanting to make for a very long time.”
With its glamorous aesthetic, high-energy production, and deeply personal inspiration, The Life of a Showgirl marks the start of yet another electrifying Taylor Swift era — one that promises to be as bold, colorful, and unforgettable as its name suggests.
